The rumors are rampant.
Sources of canonrumors.com have reported Canon will announce a new D-SLR August 25/26, or September 1/2. Photographers around the world are speculating on the models and possible specs of the new Digital SLR(s).
Once school of thought (and some interesting leaks), have a new model, the 7D, being released. Others believe the Canon 1D MkIII will be upgraded to the 1D MK IV. Some think Canon will release two new models on the day in question.
The rumored specs of the new digital SLRs are all over the map. It/they could range from:
- 12 to 16 megapixels (full-frame or ASP-C)
- contain Canon’s Digic IVprocessor (or dual Digic V processors)
- 1080p video mode
- 6 to 10 fps
- SD and CF card slots
- 3-inch LCD
This is all speculation. No one knows but Canon, and they aren’t saying. Their recent announcements focused on the new PowerShot cameras without a hint about the Digital SLR releases.
August 25/26 or September 1/2? We will all have to wait and see.
