UPDATE:
There have been some difficulties encountered by Mac users trying to upgrade their Mitros flashes. For this Phottix offers a deep apology.
The Mac Upgrade Application V1.64 works with only newer hardware versions of the Mitros.
Mitros for Canon— 1.04 or later version
Mitros for Nikon—- 1.03 or later version
If the hardware version of Mitros flashes is lower than above versions, the Mitros can only be upgraded on a PC using Windows OS or a Mac with Windows Bootcamp Partition. Mac users, again, an apology.
To check the hardware version of your Mitros Flash.
- Press and hold the HSS/SCS button and turn on the flash.
- This will open the “versions” screen. If the hardware version on the flash is lower than what is listed above the Mac upgrade software cannot be used.
Again, apologies for the confusion.
Hi I have downloaded the mac installer for phottix mitros nikon for the new firmware. My phottix mitros is pretty new and just probably used 4 times but when I plugged the phottix to the mac, it says USB mode and it stays there even i’ve turned it on. So I can’t upgrade it I don’t know why. Can you check whether it is just me?
Hi, Firmware changes sound great – this is for Mitros not for Mitros+, right?
Where does the Mitros+ stand with respect to these upgrades, TIA?
Flash Havoc, noted that the update is not for the mitros+ only for the regular mitros.
The mac version does not work. All I get is “No FDS Device”
Hello: Please see the update above regarding upgrading in the Mac OS.
am sorry. what happens when the flash is ver. 1.03 for Nikon.
=
So I have ver.1.03 and still can’t upgrade on mac. If I had access to a computer with windows I wouldn’t be here.
Hi I would like to update you guys again that I have a phottix mitros for nikon version 1.03 and still doesn’t work with new mac. I would try to find a windows laptop at some stage but your updated information is still incorrect. I think version 1.03 will need the windows to upgrade. Cheers.
I don’t believe they intend to fix the issue. I guess I won;t update because I don’t have a windows pc and am not going to buy windows either. I switch to a bare blub flash system anyways…guess the mitros is going on ebay.
Same here with Mitros for Canon and Mavericks on Mac the Mac can’t see the flash and complains the disk is not recognized. not a very well tested Mac release I see.
