Special Note to Mac Users: We are getting mixed reports of the firmware applications and Sudo method working correctly with the El Capitan OS. There appear to be no issues with Mavericks or Yosemite. Recent OS changes by Apple have caused grief to several companies. We will work to resolve any issues with the Mac app.
UPDATE: If you’re having issues upgrading using Mac OS – there is a walkthrough video posted on using the SUDO and Terminal Window Method.
The Mac version does not recognize my Mitros + Flash. I have tried it with OSX 10.11.4 and OSX 10.7 Your instructions do not reflect what is in the download folder .
Your instructions state:
“3. The archive will contain three les, Phottix Mitros MAC Upgrade.app (the upgrade software), the latest rmware (an .FDS le and an .FIF le), and instructions and notes on the upgrade.”
There is no MAC Upgrade.app! There is the file called FDS V1.64, that seems to launch an application for upgrading the flash.
Then I connected the USB cable to my computer, then my flash. I turned on the flash. I clicked on the “software” tab on the update software and get the error message “NO FDS DEVICE” thats it!
I tried it several times – it does not work!!!

I have tried to install from OSX 10.7, OSX 10.10 and OSX 10.11 – the firmware update does not work. Did you guys actually test this update before releasing it? So much for this being an Apple problem as you suggest above. This is a Phottix problem……..eagerly awaiting a real working solution.

You cant be serious about the solution for updating the firmware you posted in the video. When are you going to have a reliable firmware updating solution for OSX. You have asked people to cut and paste code through terminal to update firmware im the Flashes. Are you going to fix our units if we copy/paste code incorrectly?!?!?!?
Your firmware updaters for OSX have consistantly been terrible – I guess it time to bring this to the attention of other photographers thinking – wrongly – about Phottix lighting gear!
Phottix –
I used your work-around ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_wQvMp3nF0&feature=youtu.be ) for installing the firmware upgrade v2.10 for Mitros + via the Mac OSX 10.10
Guess what, 5 minutes after installing the firmware upgrade into two of my Mitros + I found a serious bug. Once the Odin II is on, the two flashes are on, I test fire them and they work.
Turn off the Odin II, then turn it back on, test fire the flashes, everything works.
Turn off the all Mitros + flashes, turn them back on, try to test fire them and either one works or neither works. I have to go into each flash and the Odin II, select a new channel for the devices – then everything works again. I can repeat this problem over and over.
So essentially, the flashes keep loosing communication with the Odin II every time they are turned off. Thats horrible!
You testing of software and equipment before release is very disappointing at best.
You need to fix this ASAP
