Piet Van den Eynde, professional photographer and Phottix Pro Team member recently had a image featured in Nikon Pro Magazine. The image was lit by 5 SB-900s triggered by the Phottix Odin TTL Triggers for Nikon.
From the magazine copy:
Piet Van den Eynde is a Belgian freelance photographer. He also writes books, magazine articles and gives training on digital photography and postprocessing. He took this image of young dancer Brecht Bovijn, as part of a larger portfolio. “It was taken under a bridge in Ledeberg, near Gent, where I live.” he explains. “It was kind of a spur of the moment picture. We’d been trying out different poses, using the bus stop as a graphical element and I asked Brecht if he could hold himself up like that. And he did. I asked an assistant to hold a couple of SB-900s in a softbox to the right of Brecht (I needed the extra power because I was working in High Speed Sync) and I put another one to the left with a grid to act as a separation light, separating the dark trousers from the dark background. I postprocessed the image to make the gritty feel of the scene stand out even more. I like the strength and control that emanates from this picture.”
