Introducing the Odin II TTL Flash Trigger:
Phottix adds cutting edge functionality and features to their flagship trigger
Introduced at Photokina 2014, there is no flash triggering system that is more anticipated than the Odin II. It is the result of operational requests from the thousands of happy Odin users who love their TTL flash systems and want even more. Phottix is delivering on all of its promises. And then some.
Unrivalled Control and Streamlined User Interface
The Odin II Transmitter gives photographers more control than they have ever experienced; control that is direct, logical, and fast.
Each of the 5 Groups has its own quick-access button. Changes are made by turning a large, perfectly-placed, control dial. Pick the light. Make the change. Lock it in. Shoot. A large, illuminated LCD panel shows all settings at a glance. Control five lights or groups of lights, in TTL Auto or Manual. Switch a Group OFF and its display line disappears from the screen. Displaying only active groups assures an easier and simpler viewing experience.
More Channels and Digital ID
Pick from 32 channels. The first four channels offer three Groups and are compatible with the original Odin receivers. Channels five through thirty-two use the new functionality of the Odin II receiver including user-set digital ID for the ultimate in secure triggering. Remotely control speedlight zoom settings to provide the perfect coverage from broad light to spot. When shooting with Phottix Indra360/500 light, the Odin II transmitter also offers remote modeling light brightness control.
High Speed Sync and OverDrive Sync
High Speed Sync with TTL flashes and OverDrive Sync with manual, wire-connected, studio-type flashes enable flash photography at up to 1/8000 second for creative aperture effects and action stopping. A built-in AF assist light makes autofocus shooting sure and fast in lower lighting.
A range of custom functions including switching ON/OFF of audible beep, screen illumination, and AF Illuminator function allows customizing the Odin II for any application.
A complete “Anything Goes” Ecosystem
The Odin II system is compatible with the original Odin system, Phottix Mitros+ speedlights, the award-winning Indra360 and Indra500 TTL Studio lights, Strato, Strato II receivers, and Atlas II in receiver mode. Firmware upgrades for the Phottix Mitros+ and Indra360/500 will soon be available to take advantage of the new features of the Odin II.
The Phottix Lighting System offers solutions for every shooter. Hot Shoe flash minimalists can use the Odin II and the Mitros+. Photographers needing to overpower the sun can use the Phottix Indra, the Odin II and High Speed Sync features. Or these products can be combined creating the perfect lighting solution for challenging environments.
“The Odin II is the marriage of the most user-friendly interface I’ve ever seen and the most reliable triggering system I’ve ever used.”
Dennis Pike, Photographer.
“Just tap the group button and spin the wheel, it’s super intuitive.”
James Hays, Enchanted Images.

No Nikon availability stated in the article? Would love to see the Odin system integrated with the Elinchrom RX system…
Where is the Odin II for SONY?!?!!!?!?!?!?
so will Sony get remote TTL control over Indra360/500 or that will continue to be C & N only ?
Hi great to see the new Odin’s !!
but: I very much rely on rear-curtain-sync with my phottix system (and canon cameras).
Is it really possible, that this feature is no more supported on Odin II.
That would really be a problem for me !
I was seriously considering picking one of these up. Until I saw that there’s no second curtain sync for Canon. Hopefully this oversight is just a firmware update away.
OMG! Finally!
Woooo Hooooo!!!! Y e s!!! Thank you !
There is something interesting in the description: it says that the first 4 channels OFFER THREE GROUPS, compatible with old Odin receivers. If I understand correctly, if I have 2 old Odin receivers and one Mitros+ (the other two Mitros + are dead…), I can control 3 flashes with Odin II. If I would have 4 old Odin receivers and one Mitros+, I CAN’T CONTROL 5 FLASHES WITH ODIN II !!!!. This is NOT backward compatibility! You force me to buy the new receivers! Very disappointed, if that’s the true.
Calin, In the first four channels it will work exactly like the current Odin does which only has three groups. If you have four Mitros+ two can be on the same group or one can be the transmitter on the camera. If you want a flash on each older receiver then the two Mitros+ can be on the third group or any of those combinations……make sense?
Fred Windholz Yes, it makes sense. The problem is, I have 4 flashes:one Mitros+ and 3 Nikons. I also have 2 Odin I receivers. If I buy Odin II transmitter and one Odin II receiver, I can’t control 4 groups, because Odin I receivers are not compatible with the new system. For me, that is weird; I’m sure that Phottix did it on purpose, to force us to buy the new receivers.
Same problem with 2 Indra and 2 odin receivers, only 3 groups ?
Fred Windholz The function of the Odin II and Odin I are fully the same. If it is fully compatible it will affect the function of Odin II. People want new functions of Odin II and that is why Odin II exists.
I fully understand that. The question was compatibility with original Odin receivers with groups D and E when using channels 5-32. If I’m mistaken then awesome!
Fred Windholz Then use 3 groups and four channels
And with 2 indra , 1 mitros+ and 4 receivers odin 1 , with a Odin 2 I’ll have only 3 groups ? (sorry for my english)
Exactly
Séverine Cadillac yes
Séverine Cadillac The Indra has 5 groups
Phottix Professional Photo Accessories I will buy Odin II transmitter, because it is much more ergonomically designed. I will not buy Odin II receivers, because, if I stiil use Odin I receivers, there is no chance I can control 4 or more groops. Pity!
Calin Botez We have always strived to make our products as compatible as possible. If we could add the additional functionality of 5 groups to Odin I receivers through firmware we would do so. It’s a hardware issue and unfortunately that can’t be solved through firmware updates.
With 3 receivers and 2 indra, I thought we could have the receivers in group A,B,C and the Indra in group D and E, but it’s not possible in chanel 1 to 4 :/
Photokina 2014… Hello, it’s 2016 now!
So we can expect this to show up in China around Xmas then?

Really great news! 5 groups – it is big step for mankind 🙂 How will it work with current lineup of 3-group flashes? Will there be firmware update?
very nice….but no rear-curtain-sync for Canon is a very big disappointment. It makes it impossible for my to update to the Odin II. Rarely does one see a feature elimineted in the next version of a product. Really bad.
Finally and where can we get hold of these from ?
Bad timing. I bought Odin 1 yesterday
I understand how you feel Gary. I waited for months for this, just like I’ve waited a year for indra 500 to be available for Sony, so caved and bought the Odin 1 last week.
My favorite piece of equipment. Awesome wireless trigger!!!
What is the expected roll out date for the Nikon version? Always seem to take longer to get that one working.
“The Odin II for Canon will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France and United Arab Emirates in early February with availability in other countries throughout February and March.”
I hope you forgot the word “and Nikon”
Looking forward to the Sony version.
YES YES YES!!!
Finally!!!! What’s the ETA for release in Australia?
Will second curtain sync be available on Canon in the future? The original Odin supports it, I’m surprised that Odin II doesn’t.
Quick question will the Odin II work with the LumoPro 180r speedlight?
I have Sony a7rii and phottix Indra 500
So my question is
What time that Odin I I for Sony a7rii will release in the market ??
Very fine. Was using the Odin I but long waiting for the Odin II due to the much better usability. The possibility for the direct access with the A-E buttons is great. And: I don’t need new Cams due to there is (till now) no RF compatibility to the new SB-5000 and other Cams than the D5 or D500.
I pre-ordered a Odin II trigger and two receivers. I’m excited.
For any questions about Lighting and Posing please don’t hesitate to ask!
