Team Phottix unveiled three other new products during PMA 2010 in Anaheim, California.
The new Phottix Strato is a 2.4 GHz wireless flash trigger for speedlight-type flashes and studio strobes. What makes the Phottix Strato different is a hot shoe attachment on the transmitter. Photographers can mount a flash on the transmitter (on camera) and use TTL flash functions and auto-focus assist lights. The transmitter will also trigger a remote flash using a Strato receiver (in manual mode).
Based on suggestions from wedding photographers, Phottix developed the Strato to give shooters both the freedom of TTL and the ability to trigger fill flashes. The Phottix Strato will be ready in April 2010. Final specifications and sales information will be released when available.
The Phottix Hero and Phottix Hector Live View Remotes have won innovation awards for their functionally and uses. Adding to this celebrated product line Phottix will be releasing the Hector 9HD and the Hero 7.
The Hector 9HD is a wired live view remote system that connects to DSLR cameras with live view functions. The large 9-inch HD display is perfect for DSLR filmmakers shooting and reviewing video, and photographers checking still images. Why be limited by your camera’s small LCD? With an optimal resolution of 1024 x 600, the Hector 9HD can display 1080p video and accepts HDMI, Y/PB/PR, AV and S Video connections. The Hector 9HD also has a half-press/full-press shutter release button for recording still images.
The Phottix Hero 7 Live View Remote system is an update of the award winning Hero design. A transmitter unit (with mini camera) attaches to a camera’s view finder and sends the viewfinder image to the Hero 7-inch color LCD remote screen. The transmitter can also be attached to a camera with an AV cable to send a live view preview to the remote.
The 7-inch remote unit offers photographers an autofocus/shutter release button, and four shutter release modes: Single shot, 2 second delay, Continuous exposure, and “B” Bulb mode.
The Phottix Hector 9HD and Phottix Hero 7 will be available in May 2010. Final specifications and sales information will be released when available.
The next few months will be busy ones for Team Phottix. Japan, Dubai, China and Germany will all see visits by Team Phottix with their newest products.
