The Phottix Strato II Multi 5-in-1 Wireless Trigger was released almost three weeks ago and has been selling like gangbusters. The newest 2.4 GHz. flash trigger and wired/wireless remote is a hit with both professional photographers and amateurs.
The Strato II Multi offers four groups (A, B, C and D) and extended range to the already impressive functions of the original Phottix Strato. Four groups combined with four wireless channels allow photographers an incredible amount of control on location or in the studio. Sixteen or more hot shoe flashes or studio strobes – ready to be used at the push of a button.
Even the Strobist himself, David Hobby, tweeted congratulation to Phottix for embracing backwards compatibility.
Who else has offered their two cents?
Taiwan based professional photographer Craig Ferguson posted his thoughts on the Strato II Multi. Craig’s comment:
…but I can tell you that shooting approximately 500 images over a two hour period in a gym was no problem for the Phottix Strato II Multi. They fired with 100% reliability each and every time I pressed the shutter button
Pro music photographers Todd and Chris Owyoung reviewed the Phottix Strato II Multi on their site FlashRaw. What do the brother say?
The last generation of Phottix Strato were excellent triggers – they hit a fair price point with almost peerless build quality, innovative features (TTL pass-though) and the reliability of much more expensive triggers.
The new Strato Multi system takes these core attributes and adds user-selectable groups for even more flexibility, not to mention backward compatibility with the last generation of Phottix Strato receivers. All these features add up to a really solid triggering system that’s equally happy firing speedlights or studio strobes, all with the reliability professional shooting demands.
Martin Pot of Martybugs.net and Australian photographer and gear reviewer says the following in his review of the Strato II Multi:
If you are looking for a wireless flash trigger, the Phottix Strato II Multi should definitely be high on your shopping list!
