* Editor’s Note: The Strato 4-in-1 Trigger is not a TTL trigger. There is a TTL pass-through on the transmitter, allowing TTL flash to be used on camera. Remote slaves can be triggered in manual mode.
What’s this?
The final version of the Phottix Strato 4-in-1 Trigger. It fires flashes and studio strobes and works as a remote shutter release. What more can you ask for?
The Strato debuted at PMA 2010 – since then it’s gone through a redesign and thorough testing. We’re photographers too – we don’t want to sell products that don’t perform.
In brief – the Phottix Strato is a 4-channel, 2.4 GHz system for triggering flashes and cameras. It triggers at ranges past 100 meters and can sync at speeds up to 1/250 sec. What sets the Strato apart?
TTL, baby.
That’s right – you can use TTL flash on your camera and trigger remote flashes or strobes in manual mode. The Strato has a TTL pass-through on the transmitter. You can have the transmitter in your camera hot shoe – with a flash on top of it. Shooting in low light? With the Phottix Strato you can use your flash’s AF assist light. No more cursing when trying to shoot portrait at night.
The TTL pass-through opens whole new avenues for light-mongers. Stop and think about that for second…. the lighting world is your oyster.
And great news – the transmitter and receiver both use AAA batteries. No more CR2s – they are expensive and not widely available.
The Strato will be “officially” announced by the end of July and available soon after.
But that’s not all….
In the photo above the Phottix Strato is attached to the new Phottix Varos Umbrella Holder. An original Phottix design, it was created after consulting with photographers world-wide. This sturdy umbrella holder will be available by mid-July. Stay tuned to the Phottix Journal for more details.
A Pocketwizards FlexTTL/Radiopoppers killer? Will definitely be looking at this release with interest.
Can use Phottix Strato for Di866 Nissin? Thanks
Hi! Yes, you can use the Strato with the Nissin Di866.
Hi! Can i use Phottix Strato with Nikon SU 800 on hotshoe in CLS?
Thanks
Can we use the Phottix Strato II with the earlier versions of the Nissin Di622 for Nikon?
The pictures of the Strato II recevier (for Nikon) show the hot shoe as similar to that of the Nikon camera hot shoe. I presume my old Di622 will now work on the Strato II receiver.
Please confirm.
Nissin “Mark II” flashes work without issues.
Not the Mark II versions Sir. What I meant were the earlier versions of the Di622. Will they work with the Phottix Strato II?

the Phottix Strato ii will not trigger my Nissin Di622 (canon). I have read that the Di622 MKii will work with the strato, but may need to have their firmware updated to do so. It sounds like the 622mkii can be updated at home, but the 622 mki needs to be sent away to have the firmwear updated.
Hello,
sorry if i don’t get the point. I would like to know if the strato 4in1 Trigger for Nikon will trigger my Nissin Di622 Mark 2? (Nikon D3100)
Thank you
