Please Note:
There have been some difficulties encountered by Mac users trying to upgrade their Mitros flashes. For this Phottix offers a deep apology.
The Mac Upgrade Application V1.64 works with only newer hardware versions of the Mitros.
Mitros for Canon— 1.04 or later version
Mitros for Nikon—- 1.03 or later version
If the hardware version of Mitros flashes is lower than above versions, the Mitros can only be upgraded on a PC using Windows OS or a Mac with Windows Bootcamp Partition. Mac users, again, an apology.
To check the hardware version of your Mitros Flash.
- Press and hold the HSS/SCS button and turn on the flash.
- This will open the “versions” screen. If the hardware version on the flash is lower than what is listed above the Mac upgrade software cannot be used.
I can’t open any of the PDF files included in the zip file – Acrobat Reader reports it cannot open the files because “it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged”.
To confirm it’s not an issue at my end, I’ve downloaded the zip file multiple times – on multiple PCs – and via multiple networks.
Thanks for the heads-up. This has been fixed and new archives uploaded.
Still not completely resolved – I can open “Mitros Canon v1.02B7 Change Log B.pdf”, but I still can’t open “Mitros&Mitros+ Firmware Update Instructions PC.pdf” or “Mitros&Mitros+ Firmware Update Instructions MAC.pdf”.
New versions uploaded. Please try.
Nope – I still can’t open “MitrosMitrosPFirmwareUpdateInstructionsPC.pdf” or “MitrosMitrosPFirmwareUpdateInstructionsMAC.pdf”.
Whomever is zipping these files together, please make sure they are not shortcuts if you are zipping them on a PC or an Alias/Symbolic Link if you are doing the zipping on a Mac.
On both Mac and PC I cannot execute the firmware program. On the mac (mavericks 10.9.2) it always says “no fds device”; on the PC (Win 7 64-bit) it says cannot execute program. When I went to the executable PC program from 102b5, it opens and fetches the current version number (1.05) but shows the serial number as XXXXXXXXX. When I try to download the FDS file, a dialog box shows up that says “file size is error”. Same error dialog on the FIF file. The file sizes of the FDS and FIF file in the zip file are more than twice as large as the firmware and icon files in version b5.
Can’t update my Mitros using Windows 8.1 64-bit nor my Mac which is using Maverick due to older firmware you going to create an installer compatable with Windows 8 64 bit?
