It could be that Panasonic are guessing about the new mark II and hoping it will be nothing special but in that case how are they able to make pretty detailed guesses speculating that the weight of the Canon 7D Successor will be 910g? One hundred grams heavier than the current 7D.
Previous internet speculation of the new camera having a boosted 24MP are also quashed by Panasonic who claim the successor’s sensor will only be capable of 20MP. Canon Rumors included this claim in post a long time back of a full spec listing for the new model from a supposedly reliable source talking up the new descendant of the 7D, but with delays in the release it is possible that Panasonic is on the money with their more dismissive marketing claims. Canon Rumors also claimed that the source confirmed the new built in Wi-Fi capabilities of the 7D but in the advert Panasonic states that users will have to use an adapter for the 7D successor. It maybe that Panasonic are being underhand and comparing their model not to a 7D successor but a lower line camera but if Panasonic’s claims are true it is hard to see why people would be motivated to purchase the new 7D successor, unless it really is rammed with special video features.
