Anxious Canon users are now getting a chance to pick up the coveted Canon 7D, proclaimed by some as “Camera of the Year.”
The 18 megapixel professional body started appearing in stores around the world. Information on availability is sketchy and starting to trickle in. Many of the pre-orders for the new Canon 7D have not yet been shipped by major online retailers. Other stores have none of the new EOS body in stock or have pre-sold their first shipments.

Nikon Rumors is reporting a that Nikon’s venerable 80-400 f/4.5-5.6 VR will be replaced next spring with a new AF-S 100-500mm f/4-5.6 IF-ED VR lens. In other forums, two new lenses, a wide-angle prime and an extreme telephoto zoom are rumored for next spring when Nikon releases its expected AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR.
