What’s new in the world of DSLRs? Not much. There wasn’t a wave of product announcements at Photokina.
Nikon
Nikon previously announced the D7000 and D3100 DSLRs. There seems to be a possible D800 – a D800 book is set to be published next March. A typo? Confusion in already muddy waters? Nikon Rumors has the D800 low-down.
Whatelse from Nikon?
The D4, a replacement for the D3s is expected to be announced in the spring of 2011. If you believe the rumors the camera will be 16 MP, 11 fps, with a new AF system and full HD video. The D4x will follow with a 34MP sensor.
Nikon Rumors also has a review of the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G lens.
in the Canon world
Not much scuttlebutt in the Canon world. The 60D is becoming available in various markets. DPReviews has a preview of the 60D posted.
Still no news on the rumored new Canon flash or the long-awaited 24-70 f/2.8L IS. Canon Rumors has been told the lens is coming “sooner rather than later.” Take that for what it’s worth.
No news on the Canon 1Ds Mark IV or the Canon 5D Mark III.
