Canon announced the full-frame mirrorless EOS R in September. What the seminal announcement lacked was in-body image stabilization – IBIS. Canon has opted for image stabilization via lenses.

A rumor on Canon Rumors (via PetaPixel) says a source has said Canon will add 5 axis IBIS to the next EOS R body. Time will tell.
