The Canon 60D to be announced August 11? It sounds too good to be true. That’s the latest rumor being reported by Canon Rumors. A replacement for the Canon SX1 is also expected to be announced.
There is speculation that two new cameras will be announced by Canon at Photokina in September and another by the end of 2010. Canon Rumors has also reported a global shortage of the Canon 5D Mark II. Could this be a way of signaling the announcement of the mythical Canon 5D Mark III?
The Canon 35 f/1.8 and 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 IS are back-ordered in many locales. This is fueling speculation that Canon will announce upgraded lenses, perhaps at Photokina. A new 35 f/1.8 and a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 IS II ? Sounds too good to be true, but Canon did announce three new lenses when the Canon 7D was announced last year.
There are Canon 1Ds Mark IV cameras floating around, it is rumored. That’s not surprising as an announcement is expected – when Canon is good and ready to announce it.

Considering that the 50D was released somewhat recently compared to the 5D MKII. I’m hoping that Canon Rumors is wrong on this one and that the MKIII will be released sooner than the 60D!
An upgrade to the 70-300 lens will be interesting; However, I would rather see an improvement in the f-stops though rather than its IS capabilities.
