It’s been a busy couple of week for announcements. We’ve seen announcements from Canon, Nikon and Ricoh-Pentax – now Sigma joins the fray ahead of the landmark CP+ show in Yokohama, Japan, February 25-28. Sigma lenses have seen their share of acclaim over the last few years. Two more will join the Sigma line-up: The Sigma 50-100mm F1.8 DC HSM Art and Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary.
The Sigma 50-100mm F1.8 DC HSM Art, for APS-C, covers many popular focal lengths, and maintains a bright f/1.8 throughout the zoom range. In a nod to videographers, the lens will maintain focus while being zoomed. Other specs from the press release:

The Sigma 50-100mm F1.8 DC HSM Art will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts with a listed price of $1099.
The Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary “…brings immense value to mirrorless cameras. Boasting superior image quality with F1.4 brightness, the versatile lens covers a wide range of photo and video capture scenarios, delighting users with its beautiful bokeh effects,” says Sigma. Available in Micro 4/3 and Sony E-Mount, the $339 lens are features:

- Sigma engineered quality within a sleek compact design
- Fast, smooth AF stepping motor designed to support video
- Features 9 elements / 7 groups, Minimum Aperture: F16, 52mm filter thread, Minimum Focus Distance: 11.8in, Weight: 9.3oz, Dimensions: 2.6×2.9in.
Just so the lenses won’t get lonely Sigma also announced the “the Mount Converter MC 11– for Sony E-mount, full frame and APS-C sensor cameras. With the new MC-11, Sony camera users will be able to utilize 19 Global Vision lenses in Sigma Canon Mount (EOS) and Sigma Mount (SA).”
But wait, there’s more. If two lenses and and mount adapter weren’t enough to get you hot and bothered over Sigma, two new mirrorless cameras join the chorus. Sigma “announced the new high-performance, compact Sigma sd Quattro and Sigma sd Quattro H mirrorless camera systems with Foveon Quattro sensors. The Sigma sd Quattro features an APS-C sized sensor and the Sigma sd Quattro H touting a larger APS-H sized sensor for even greater image quality. Thanks to the mirrorless aspect of the cameras, both the sd Quattro and sd Quattro H are designed to take full advantage of all Sigma Global Vision lenses.” Both bodies appear without price on the Sigma website and in the press release.
