Taken with the Odin TTL Trigger for Nikon by Piet ven Der Eynde
The Phottix Odin TTL Trigger for Nikon was launched earlier this week to much fanfare. Pre-production units have making the international rounds for a few month. Photographers around the world have put the Odin for Nikon through its paces to make sure it performs in real-life situations. What are they saying about the Odin?
Raymond Kam, Hong Kong-based professional photographer and winner of WPPI 2011 Competition, Advertising/Fashion Category says:
Phottix’s new trigger/receiver system Odin provides reliable, easy-to-use and wide trigger range for Nikon users. Odin maximizes Nikon speedlight system CLS/ i-TTL and Manual Power control capability, plus control of speedlight zoom on only one trigger unit. The multi-zone system (Group A, B & C) expands and maximizes shooting possibility and creativity in all environments with convenient controls. The i-TTL is accurate … it’s perfect for outdoor wedding photography, event photography as well as creative portraiture photography.
I test-shot ODIN in the Dubai desert… My experience working with (the) Odin and Nikon speedlights was great and smooth.
Piet ven Der Eynde, Photographer and Author says:
“I really like the ability to work in thirds of a stop in Manual. I also like the fact that everything’s powered with normal, readily available AA batteries and that it’s firmware-upgradeable.“
Phottix Odin TTL Flash Trigger for Nikon sets with a TCU and Receiver will be available, as will as individual receivers.
