This week’s Phottix Weekly Photo comes from Phottix favourite flickr’s JazzXP (Australia’s Sam Dickinson). Being fans of Sam’s work, and Sam being a fan of beauty dishes, we sent him the new Phottix Luna Beauty Dish to try our.
How was this series shot:
Lights are Elinchrom Ranger RX with two action heads.
Key light was fired through a 70cm Phottix Luna Folding Beauty Dish which was feathered on to the subject (mainly to keep the light off the background) from directly in front and above the camera.
Background light was fired through an 18cm reflector with a home made snoot (ie. a bit of paper taped into a cylinder wrapped around the light) to give the pool of light on the background (seamless white paper).
The whole lot was triggered with Phottix Atlas triggers.

Thanks for the feature guys! I must say I’ve been using the Luna a LOT since taking these and absolutely love it. Nice, portable and beautiful light.
