Nikon Rumors
Nikon Rumors is speculating on the future of the Nikon EVIL camera: Hiroshi Takashima (General Manger of Imaging Division at Nikon) said in an interview that Nikon has some surprises up it’s sleeve this year. Stay tuned for more.
Pre-PMA, Nikon is scheduled to make an announcement February 3. What about? No new DSLRs apparently. Nikon Rumors reports that four new CoolPics cameras will be released. Two lenses, the AF-S 24mm f/1.4 prime and the AF-S 16-35mm f/4G ED VR zoom lenses could be announced, as well as two new teleconverters.
The new Nikon 300mm f/2.8G AF-S ED VR II lens has been reported in stock. Check your favorite online retailer for more info.
Olympus Rumors
The Olympus world is whispering about the Olympus E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds camera. The new micro 4/3 will feature a built-in flash, be easier to use, and be available in four colors. Woot. See the specs below from 43rumors.com
Canon Rumors
Canon-ites are rabidly discussing the expected 60D and a 550D or 600D. The new bodies are expected to have articulating screens and shoot HD video. A February announcement has been discussed with the new cameras released in May.
The possible Canon 60D specs (from Canon Rumors) are
- body similar to 50D
- 15.1mp APS-C Sensor
- 720p/1080p Video at 30fps
- Electronic Level
- New grip & battery
- approx. $ 1190
The 550D or 600D could be smaller than the 500D and have 720p video at 30fps.
